How Our Pillows Are Made

In 2020, we opened the doors to our brand-new, state-of-the-art pillow manufacturing facility at our Purecare campus in Arizona. Through close collaboration with a family-owned and operated company from Italy, Brighi Tech Innovations, our Brighi Tecnologie pillow manufacturing machinery is able to produce high-quality, wellness-focused pillows. 

Here are the typical steps that go into making each of our pillows filled and finished in the USA:

• Step 1: We receive the pillow shell/outer cover at our facility in Arizona. Our outer pillow covers range from simple cotton, enhanced cooling, or soft, tufted bamboo. 
• Step 2: We determine the type of fill and “blow” the pillow. Each pillow is packed with a specific amount and type of fill for optimal loft levels and support. 
• Step 3: The pillow cover is sewn shut or fitted with a zipper. The pillow cover is either sewn shut by our expert seamstresses so your fill stays in place, or it is fitted with a zipper closure if it has an adjustable fill loft.
• Step 4: The pillow is fluffed to even out the filling. A special machine swings the pillow back and forth to ensure the fill is evenly distributed for consistent comfort. 
• Step 5: Pillows are packaged to be shipped to you! Using our advanced CubiScan machinery, pillows are able to be packaged up right after they’re created to ship quickly and effectively.

Different Types of Pillow Fills

While we offer a wide variety of pillow fills on our website, the two main fills we focus on here in our USA manufacturing facility are fiber and shredded memory foam. These versatile fills offer a wide variety of benefits and provide ideal support for a variety of sleepers.  

Fiber Fill

Our fiber fill pillows are known as down alternative pillows, which means that the fill offers most of the comfort benefits of a down- or feather-filled pillow without using actual feathers. This allows it to be a less expensive and more allergen-friendly option that can easily be cleaned (most of our fiber pillows are fully machine washable!).

Down alternative is made from small puffs of polyester fibers for fluffy, breathable comfort. Our exclusive down alternative fill, called Identically Down™, offers malleable, cloudlike support that is cool and moisture-wicking for a refreshing sleep space. 

Shredded Memory Foam

You are probably familiar with the cushioned, responsive feel of a traditional memory foam core that offers comforting pressure relief. Shredded memory foam takes that same feel but offers a more quick-contouring support that is easy to fluff and shape for a customizable sleep surface. The small foam puffs also allow for more breathability and better airflow in the pillow for a cooler sleep surface. At our manufacturing facility, we have both traditional shredded memory foam as well as treated cooling shredded memory foam that offers quick-chill comfort.
